New rise in inflation

According to the Haitian Institute of Statistics and Informatics (IHSI), the general consumer price index (CPI, base 100 in 2017-2018), which stood at 525.0 in June, rose to 535.8 in July 2025, representing a monthly variation of 2.1% and an annual variation of 29.6%, compared to 1.9% and 28.4% respectively in June 2025.

Me Frantz Monclair dismissed

Me Frantz Monclair, Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, has been placed on unpaid leave for serious administrative misconduct. He is replaced by Meister Guy Alexis.

Nearly 1,534 polling stations are already available across the country as part of preparations for the referendum and electoral processes, confirmed Provisional Electoral Council spokesperson Kenly Vilsaint this Tuesday.

France : Humanitarian aid increased 22-fold in 6 years

On Tuesday, August 19, as part of the celebration of International Humanitarian Day, the French Embassy in Haiti paid tribute to all those on the front lines of crises who are committed to providing assistance to people in distress. In Haiti, French humanitarian aid increased from €700,000 in 2018 to €16 million in 2024. The French humanitarian program for Haiti notably funds school canteens, with a policy of purchasing local products to support Haitian producers. In 2024/2025, more than 80,000 children benefited from a daily school meal made with local, healthy, and nutritious products.
