Haiti - Security : Prime Minister on inspection tour of downtown Port-au-Prince (video)

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé conducted an inspection visit to downtown Port-au-Prince, where the Government, in close collaboration with the Haitian National Police (PNH), continues to conduct major operations to recapture the area occupied by bandits.

Determined to restore order and allow a return to normalcy, the State is mobilizing all its institutions. To date, more than 2,500 cubic meters of waste and over 500 car wrecks have been removed. Significant work has been completed, and "the city center is beginning to regain its true form." The Ministry of Public Works is continuing to rehabilitate roads and other essential infrastructure.

All these efforts have a single objective : to enable the population to resume their daily activities in downtown Port-au-Prince, in complete safety and dignity.

The Prime Minister announced that terror would not have the last word and that the State would stand by the people until peace and stability were fully restored to the capital.

"The State is strong. Together, we will retake Port-au-Prince and restore to every citizen the right to live in peace and dignity."
