Haiti - Diplomacy : 3 new ambassadors accredited to Haiti

On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at the Villa d'Accueil, Laurent Saint-Cyr, President pro tempore and Coordinator of the Transitional Council (CPT), accompanied by other Presidential Advisors, the Secretary General of the National Palace, Ms. Marie Élisabeth Joseph Régine Haddad, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, received the credentials of three new Ambassadors accredited to Haiti : Kazuhiko Nishiuchi of Japan, Hélène Roots of the European Union, and Luis Guilherme DA SILVA of Brazil.

During this ceremony, the President of the CPT discussed with the diplomats the dynamics of cooperation between Haiti and its international partners. Laurent Saint-Cyr emphasized the importance of security during his discussions with the diplomats, a concern to which the ambassadors responded by promising to support the fight against insecurity.

Ambassador Kazuhico Nishiuchi, representing Japan, pledged his country's support for customs control and border security, which he said will help limit the trafficking of arms and ammunition.

European Union Ambassador Hélène Roots reaffirmed the EU's commitment to supporting the Haitian National Police (PNH).

Ambassador Da Silva recalled the long tradition of cooperation between the two countries in the security sector. He mentioned the training, partly in Brazil, of the first class of Haitian National Police (PNH) and his country's commitment to continuing this collaboration.
