Haiti - Social : 50 Haitian role models and inspirations 2025 (list, video)

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Network of Haitian Women Models and Inspirers (REFEHMI) announced the official launch of the 6th edition of the tribute ceremony to the 50 Haitian women role models and inspirers, scheduled for January 9 and 10, 2026, in Port-au-Prince. Under the theme "Fanm se rasin" this national and diaspora initiative celebrates the essential role of Haitian women in building stability and transmitting values within society.

Since 2020, REFEHMI has highlighted the careers of more than 250 women from various sectors : education, governance, culture, health, disability, entrepreneurship, the environment, and the diaspora, among others. This 6th edition will highlight 50 new recipients whose commitment directly contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 on gender equality.

Eunice Cincir, founder of REFEHMI, said, "Fanm se rasin is not just a theme; it's a statement of recognition. Haitian women are the memory, the strength, and the lifeblood of a resilient nation. This 6th edition aims to honor them and inspire the next generation of leaders."

For her part, Rodia Pyram Chavannes, Chair of the Committee for the 6th edition, emphasized that : "This edition aims to institutionalize the recognition of female leadership and amplify the voices of women who, every day, advance Haiti in silence and with dignity."

Dr. Esther Chrysostome, Head of the Communication and Citizen Engagement Subcommittee, reiterated that "REFEHMI is a movement of active citizenship. Celebrating these women also raises awareness and encourages collective commitment to an inclusive Haiti." »
