Brazil Sholarships : Registrations open

The Embassy of Haiti in Brazil informs that the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC) is launching its calls for applications for the year 2026 with Masters and Doctorate scholarships covering 100% of academic fees for the highest ranked international students.

The deadline for submitting applications is November 17, 2025.

To apply, interested candidates must be:

• License holders for Master’s programs;

• Master’s degree holders for Doctorate programs.

Increase in kidnappings

Thursday October 23, 2025, Jocelyne Colas Director of the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace confirmed on a radio station in the capital a resumption of cases of kidnappings, particularly in the municipalities of Delmas and Pétion-ville.

CEP : Elections in 8 months ?

The first round of elections could take place in Haiti within 8 months, provided security is restored and the process is financed by the government and partners, announced Jacques Desrosiers, new President of the Provisional Electoral Council. The CEP is working hard to submit, as soon as possible, the draft electoral decree to the executive, which will first be presented to political and civil society actors for adhesion, he added.

António Guterres, Secretary General of the UN, presented to the Security Council the report of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti devoted to the situation in Haiti which covers the main events occurring since the previous report of June 27, 2025.
