Haiti - Reconstruction : Inauguration of Town Halls to Cerca Carvajal and Savanette

This week, Me Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and National Defence, accompanied by the President of the Republic Michel Martelly, on the occasion of a tour in the department of Centre has participated in Savanette and Cerca Carvajal, to the inauguration of two Town Halls.

These two brand new buildings were constructed with the financial support of the Ministry of Interior and the Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES). During his speech to Savanette, Me Mayard-Paul declared "The new city hall is a concrete representation of the determination of the President and his team to best serve each communityin order to bring a radical change through the creation of jobs and economic growth... We want to transform people's needs in sustainable solutions through constructive action."

The mayors of these municipalities took advantage of these inaugurations to present their list of grievances to government officials. The President Martelly and the Minister Mayard-Paul ook note of their demands and are committed to provide answers to some urgent requests.

This initiative is a significant achievement in the objective of the Ministry of Interior, Territorial Collectivities and National Defense to strengthen all communities in country for a better performance to the community, the creation of employment and the improvement of living conditions throughout the country.
