Haiti - Justice : No embezzlement at the Ministry of Culture, concludes the ULCC

Patrick Delatour, the Minister of Culture, acknowledges the publication of the summary of the report by the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC).

The Minister recalls that this investigation and analysis conducted by the ULCC was initiated following public denunciations by the "Je Klere" Foundation (FJKL) concerning the alleged embezzlement of public funds allocated to the Project for the Development, Restoration, and Protection of Heritage Sites. The Foundation alleged the irregular loading of debit cards for the benefit of certain senior officials at the Ministry of Culture and Communication (MCC) and the Institute for the Safeguarding of National Heritage (ISPAN) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45828-haiti-corruption-formal-denial-from-the-minister-of-culture.html

The ULCC's investigation uncovered none of the allegations made by FJKL against the Ministry of Culture and ISPAN. The ULCC formulated administrative and institutional recommendations.

Aware of its strategic role in shaping public opinion and disseminating information, Patrick Delatour encourages responsible, balanced, and professional handling of the information contained in this report, in order to avoid any misinformation or misinterpretation that could harm social cohesion and institutional stability.
