Haiti - Security : Seizure of weapons and ammunition at Quartier Morin customs

On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, investigators from the North Anti-Narcotics Brigade (BLTS), assisted by the Customs Surveillance Brigade and local customs officers, conducted a targeted operation at Cap-Terminal S.A 2 (CT S.A 2) in Quartier Morin.

This operation led to the discovery, inside a shipping container from the United States (registration : ASJU5884650, D CARGO agency), of five cardboard boxes marked "L663".

Concealed inside these boxes, law enforcement seized nine pistols of various makes and calibers (S&W, Luger, Bryco Arms, SCCY, KAHR, Palmetto, Springfield), nine magazines, and 5,500 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition [primarily used in AK-47 assault rifles and derivatives].

Attorney Bimps Noël, Acting Presiding Judge at the Quartier Morin Magistrate's Court, was appointed to conduct the official investigation, assisted by his bailiff, Attorney Kattia Joseph.

Two individuals present to inspect the container, Willy Pierre and Clevickson Servius, were immediately apprehended and detained by BLTS investigators for international trafficking of firearms and ammunition.

Breaking News : On Wednesday, January 7, police officers from the North Department arrested Joseph Cedernier, alias "Djo", suspected of owning the weapons and ammunition that BLTS agents discovered on Tuesday at the Cap-Terminal S.A 2 terminal in Quartier Morin.

This significant seizure is the subject of a thorough investigation conducted by BLTS agents under judicial authority, aimed at establishing the networks and responsibilities related to this trafficking.
