Haiti - Education : 2nd Day of the National Conference on the Refounding of the Haitian Education System

On Friday, January 16, 2026, the second and final day of the national reform of the Haitian education system was held in the Northeast Department, under the auspices of the Departmental Directorate of Education. This event brought together various stakeholders in the education sector, demonstrating a collective commitment to improving the education system in Haiti.

In the presence of Luckner Mompremier, Departmental Director of Education, the day saw the active participation of members of civil society, teachers, school principals, and students. The two technical assistants from the Ministry of Education, Jean-Rouzier Claircidor and Amos Simon, also played a significant role in the discussions.

The debates focused on two major themes : the effectiveness of education and the quality of education.

The speakers shared their perspectives on the current challenges facing the education system and proposed concrete solutions. The discussions highlighted the importance of quality education for the development of young Haitians and, by extension, for the future of the country.

Participants expressed their hope that the discussions held during this conference would translate into concrete and effective actions, thus enabling the building of an education system that meets the needs of students and the challenges facing the country.

Luckner Mompremier closed the conference and expressed his gratitude to all participants for their commitment and active contribution throughout the two days of reflection and discussion.
