CARIFTA Games 2026 - Haiti wins 6 medals : 2 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze

In 2026, the CARIFTA Games were held in two different countries. The swimming events (CARIFTA Aquatics Championships) took place in Martinique (French department) from April 4th to 8 in Le Lamentin, while the athletics events were held in Grenada, Spain, from April 4 to 6 at Kirani James Stadium.

Swimming (Martinique) : Haiti achieved its best-ever result thanks to a delegation of three swimmers. Christian Jérome was the standout performer of this edition, which brought together more than 500 swimmers from the region.

Podium Results :

Christian Jérome (17 years old) :

Gold Medal: 100m Butterfly [55.23].

Gold Medal: 200m Butterfly [2:07.75].

Silver Medal: 50m Butterfly [24.9].

In addition to these titles, he made his mark on the competition by setting a new Haitian national record in the 50m backstroke with a time of 28.97 seconds.

Other swimmers : Jude Jérome and Mayah Chouloute both achieved personal best times during the competition.

Athletics (Grenada) :

The delegation, composed of seven female athletes, met the Federation's (FHAA) objective of at least three podium finishes.

Podium Details :

Silver : Hope Edwards 400m Hurdles U-17 [1:02.48].

Bronze : Breanne Barnett 200m U-20 [23.49]

Bronze : Aisha Wajid 800m U-17. [2:14.96]
