Stray Bullet at Port-au-Prince Airport

Exchanges of gunfire involving armed groups broke out near Toussaint Louverture International Airport (TL). At least one stray bullet struck a glass door of an administrative building, causing no injuries. Laboule 12 : Wall Collapses, 3 Dead

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, at least three people lost their lives on the night of Saturday, April 18, when a section of wall collapsed onto a house in the Laboule 12 area following heavy rains in the commune. Several other residents were reportedly injured.

Seguin : Armed Attack Repelled, 10 Bandits Killed

On Monday, April 20, 2026, specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH) successfully repelled an armed attack carried out by terrorist gangs in Seguin that morning. More than a dozen bandits were fatally wounded, and three assault rifles and ammunition were recovered. No civilian casualties were reported. The PNH reassured the residents of Seguin and the surrounding area that the situation is fully under control and security is being firmly maintained in the area.

The FNE congratulates the diaspora

On Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Karibe Convention Center, Élysé Colagene, Director General of the National Education Fund, participated in the celebration of "National Haitian Diaspora Day 2026," which was held under the theme Ayiti, Sekirite, Eleksyon : Diaspora a ap patisipe pou kore estabilite. In his address, he thanked and congratulated the Haitian diaspora for its major contribution to education in Haiti. While guaranteeing the utmost transparency regarding funds collected from international remittances and appeals, the Director General of the FNE pledged to ensure sound, efficient, and irreproachable management.

Bangladesh Visits the PNH :

On Monday, April 20, 2026, Vladimir Paraison, Acting Director General, accompanied by members of the High Command, received a delegation from the Gang Supression Force (GSF) led by Major General Gulam Mahiuddin Ahmed and four other officers from Bangladesh. Together, they discussed collaboration between the PNH and the FRG in the fight to regain control of the territories and how they will move forward together.

Diaspora France : Entrepreneurship Weekend

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Consulate General of Haiti in Paris will present the Entrepreneurship Weekend, outlining its ambitions and prospects for the diaspora's economic involvement. The weekend will take place on April 24, 2026, at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Haiti in Paris, in partnership with CFI Haiti, and supported by CZart Academy and Next Caribbean Business Ladies. Through this initiative, the Consulate reiterates that the diaspora remains a crucial strategic player in economic reconstruction, productive modernization, and the development of Haiti's creative potential.
