Haiti - Justice : Discussions around a legal framework on LPG

Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, met last week at the premises of the Ministry, the companies importers of Liquefied Propane Gas (LPG) and the National Association of Distributors of Petroleum Products (ANADIPP) to discuss the development of a legal framework on LPG.

Also attended this meeting of representatives of ministries : of Economy and Finance ; of Transport Communication and Energy (Directorate Mining Office), of the Secretary of State for Public Security, of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), of the Office of Monetization of Development Aid Programs (BMPAD) and of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Discussions focused on the propane gas reserves, the safety of trucks transporting LPG and that of tankers carrying petroleum products, the safety of trucks carrying propane gas cylinders and LPG filling stations.

After many hours of fruitful discussions, participants agreed at the next meeting [fixed in a week] to analyze the proposals of legal framework and to agree on the content to give to the forthcoming legislation.
