Jean Baptiste Clark Neptune, the Director General of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) does not understand the anger of some entrepreneurs, who are on a list of 66 names, rightly or wrongly, for non-payment of taxes "All tax administrations around the world have structures of recovery. The Directorate General of Taxes is not an exception to this rule. This is not the first time that the DGI takes such measures [... ] This is not the first nor the last list that will be published," declared Jean Baptiste Clark Neptune.

The Director General reminded once again that the forced recovery was an attribution of the DGI that it was a rigorous process governed by laws "Whatever the person who has a debt due to the DGI we will pursue it [...] According to the principle of equality before tax of all citizens," insisting that there was nothing related to the policy in the decisions of the DGI, deploring the politicization made ​​in this case by some... He clarified that most of the 66 taxpayers on the list are already came to discuss with the officials of the DGI and that so far "[...] 25 large taxpayers indexed, have regularized their situation with the DGI."

Note that being included on this list not mean that the taxpayer, is of bad faith or has sought to defraud the DGI. Delay or neglect, or a error of the DGI may also justify this listing.

"If you are in good standing with the DGI, come discuss with us to prove it. In case there would be a mistake, this taxpayer, whatever, has only to appear before the administration with of evidence," recalled Mr. Neptune.

Note that several of entrepreneurs present on this list, have proved, by presenting their receipts, that they were perfectly in order and have been removed from the list under this regulation. The DGI said regretted these errors, but no plans so far, present apology to innocent taxpayers...

The DGI take this opportunity to invite other taxpayers who have not yet fulfilled their duty to the tax authorities, to comply, otherwise there are penalties prescribed by the law of 22 August 1983 on the forced recovery of debts of the State.
