Haiti - Reconstruction : The great project of the Music School Sainte-Trinité

The music school Sainte-Trinité destroyed, by the 2010 earthquake, actively working on a project to build a large modern music complex which will include among other : two concert halls with a capacity respective of 1,500 and 800 places, the music school and conservatory. The auditorium of 1,500 seats will be able to accommodate the operas and that of 800 place, will be equipped with a pipe organ, according to Father David César.

To this end, the music school Sainte-Trinité and its main U.S. partner, the Diocese of San Francisco, conduct a fundraiser to collect the 20 million U.S. dollars, necessary for the construction of this ambitious project.

Father César stated that the new complex will be built on another site, that the old school destroyed, without, however, specifying the location "We expect the last word of the Haitian authorities; we can not give more details at the moment [...] We should also expect that the state define its vision of reconstruction for the Downtown."

Recall that the School of Music of Sainte-Trinité, serves the Haitian population for over 50 years and currently has more than 2,000 students. Since 2010, the courses are provided outdoors, in very poor conditions, for a serious music school, stressed Father César "With this complex, we will be able to double the number of our students and the courses will be held in a suitable atmosphere [...] the different bands of the church Sainte-Trinité, will be more efficient, as they will repeat in studio [...]"

The School of Music will soon be present in the departments of West, Centre, North and Artibonite.
