Haiti - Culture : Award Ceremony, National Carnival 2013

Josette Darguste, the Minister of Culture, in the presence of President Martelly, his wife Sophia Martelly, of Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and several personalities, proceeded during a ceremony organized at the Hotel Ibo Lele, to the awards ceremony for the winners of the National Carnival 2013 :

  • Award of the performance : Orchestre Septentrional

  • Award of best popular animation : Djakout #1

  • Award of originality in the creation : Anbyans

Each of the 3 winners received a check of U.S. $ 15,000. Medals were awarded to the groups : T-vice, T-Micky, Team Lobey, Zatrap and Barikad. The NATCOM, Vorbes & Fils and the BRANA received a certificate for their support to the National Carnival Cap-Haitien 2013.

In addition on Friday, the Minister Darguste had amorning's work, with the Directors General of decentralized agencies of the Ministry, during which she emphasized on the necessity that these institutions, real arm of the Ministry, can work closely with it. During this working session, each Director General has submitted its action plan for the three months ahead to the Minister.

That same day, the Honorary Ambassador of the culture of Hawaii, Ms. Charlotte Miyoko "Leilani" Kaida, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Culture and manifested during the meeting, his desire to organize a concert spiritual in Haiti with Julio Iglesias and the President Michel Martelly, stating that the funds raised would be used for the construction of a cultural center for the children of Haiti.
