The next tripartite meeting is likely to take place in June.

The MAST is committed to formulate a request of extension of project for completion, while the ILO, responding to a proposal from the Minister Jean-Jacques, has promised to help to the strengthening of the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in order to properly fulfill its regulatory role under this folder.

The follow-up meeting ended with a suggestion made by the Minister Jean-Jacques, which was very well received by the participants, and which consists to stablish a Follow-up Committee composed of representatives of the ILO, of USDOL (US Department of Labor) and MAST executives.

The day before, in his speech at the first tripartite meeting on the reform of the Labour Code Haitian, the Minister pleaded for social dialogue, inviting the social partners to find a more original approach to cover and regulate the informal work.
