Haiti - Economy : Tour of Minister Wilson Laleau in the North

Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), at the head of an important delegation composed of senior officials from the Ministry, representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and of Rode Préval, the Director General of Free Zones, conducted a tour in the North Department last Saturday and Sunday.

Accompanied by Deputy Wanique Pierre (Trou du Nord), the delegation assessed the various projects funded by the Government of Haiti in the North-East department, such as a project of agricultural farm on 1,000 hectares located in the free zone of Trou du Nord and the Parc de Caracol. With a potential of mass production of products such as banana, Northeast is a region that the Minister Laleau is determined to assist for the benefit of the national economy and regional decentralization.

The delegation continued his visit to the University of Limonade, where the Minister announced that the government was willing to fund other projects for the development of the country including an University Hospital for the University of Limonade.
