Haiti is facing major challenges, the most critical is to achieve to meet the multiple growing needs of local communities, in a difficult economic and environmental context. It is imperative that in the coming years, the Haitian State is equipped with means to provide not only innovative solution, but above all by the way they will be initiated and pursued.

Partnership development, particularly through the South-South cooperation represents for the administration Martelly / Lamothe, one of the carrier options, likely to produce results and help the country to address in an orderly and supportive way, the problem of underdevelopment.

With this in mind, various provisions have already been initiated by the State of Haiti and Benin State whose the signing of the cooperation protocol in Cotonou on 31 July, between the two governments to implement shortly in Haiti, an initiative of Songhaï type, inspired by the Songhaï Regional Centre, based in Porto Novo, Benin.

Recall that the Songhaï is a development philosophy that revolves around the creation of an entrepreneurial platform, a space of popularization bearer of organizational and legal technical solutions to get out of poverty and establish a management and sustainable socioeconomic development.

The Songhaï Initiative in Haiti aims to :

• Develop human, technical, and organizational capacities to ensure food security by improving agricultural production and by providing goods and services ;

• Support and consolidate basic agricultural infrastructure such as roads, irrigation and drainage systems, agriculture farms ;

• Develop mechanisms to ensure the rational and sustainable use of environmental resource ;

• Promoting agricultural entrepreneurship among producers in general and youth in particular and provide a platform for services, networking and knowledge sharing across agribusiness ;

• Support the marketing channel by the organization of different levels of production through the collection and processing.
