Haiti - FLASH : Bad weather, two new victims (Report #4)

Heavy rains continued to fall in the evening of May 10 on the departments of North, West, Grand-Anse, Artibonite and South. Agriculture, livestock, housing and infrastructure has been particularly affected in these departments. On site, the local structures of the Civil Protection Directorate (DPC) continuing evaluation of the situation.

Sunday evening in the South Department, in the commune of Port Salut a man aged 52 drowned and his body was found on Monday morning on the banks of the river Carpentier.

Another person, Charles Eramil, 72, reported missing Monday after heavy rainfall on "Bassin" a locality of Burette (2nd communal section of Marmelade) also drowned, his body was found Tuesday.

Moreover, in the Grand-Anse, damage assessment reported additional losses of equipment and fishing gear, as well as 137 flooded houses and 145 affected families.

Arrangements have been announced by the government to assist all those in need.
