Haiti - FLASH : Deployment schedule for the Gang Supression Force (GSF)

The UN Security Council's roadmap for the Gang Supression Force (GSF) to ramp up operations by October 2026 follows a phased approach. The objective set by the Commander-in-Chief, Mongolian Major General Erdenebat Batsuuri, and Haitian Defense Minister Mario Andrésol is to reach the operational ceiling of 5,500 troops within two months.

Deployment Schedule :

August 2026 : (Consolidation and road security)

Objective : Reach an intermediate threshold of 2,000 to 2,500 soldiers and police officers on the ground.

Expected Contingents : Arrival of the second half of the Chadian contingent (complementing the promised target of 1,500 soldiers) and the first specialized units from Sri Lanka.

Tactical Priority : Securing National Road #1 and reinforcing joint patrols with the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the municipalities of Tabarre, Liancourt and Petite-Rivière.

September 2026 : (Geographic Diversification)

Objective : Massive deployment of forces from Latin America and Asia to extend the operational area beyond Port-au-Prince.

Expected Contingents : Scheduled arrival of combat troops from Guatemala, El Salvador and Côte d'Ivoire.

Tactical Priority : Launching targeted, intelligence-led operations in the Artibonite department and strengthening the protection of humanitarian corridors.

October 2026 : (100% Deployment)

Objective : Finalizing the force structure with 5,500 operational military and police personnel (as well as 50 civilian advisors).

Expected Contingents : Arrival of the main contingent from Bangladesh and police forces from the Bahamas and Jamaica to complete the force.
