Haiti - Mexico : $7M Hospital project in Ouanaminthe

On Friday, a working session was held between Aviol Fleurant, the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation and the Ambassador of Mexico accredited in Haiti, Jose Luis Alvarado, around the bilateral cooperation and in particular the health infrastructures projects.

Under the construction Project of the Ouanaminthe hospital, the Minister pledged to ensure a Haitian counterpart, through the public investment program to the tune of 2 million US dollars for this hospital whose total cost amounts to more than 7 million US dollars which will receive financial support of 5 million dollars from the Mexican government.

This working meeting with Ambassador Alvarado was also an opportunity for the Minister Fleurant to inform him of the determination of the Haitian government to initiate a thorough reform of the development cooperation, for an optimum use of funds in connection with the implementation of the Strategic Plan of Development of Haiti (PSDH).

For his part, he Mexican Ambassador assured the Minister Fleurant of the solidarity, of the brotherhood of the people and the Mexican government with respect to Haiti. He evoked for evidence, the Fund Yucatán of infrastructure for the countries of Central America and the Caribbean, through which Mexico finances infrastructure projects in Haiti.
