Haiti - FLASH : Transport two new strike days announced

After the strike warning in transport initiated by the Association of Haiti Owners and Drivers (APCH) and widely followed on Monday, September 18 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22156-haiti-flash-transport-strike-widely-followed.html against the publication of the budget law 2017-2018 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22135-haiti-flash-moise-asserts-his-authority-and-publishes-the-budget.html the unions announce two new days of general strike in the transport on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 September.

For trade unionist Jacques Anderson Desroches, one of the leaders of the strike movement, by choosing not to listen the population and by publishing the disputed budget from all sides including economists, President Moïse chose the provocation and the confrontation rather than dialogue. Noting that the next two days of strike will be a tough response to the Head of State.

The objective remains the same, forcing the Head of State to reverse. To do this, the unions intend to use all the legal means of demands defined in the Constitution.

According to the trade unionists the President has three choices: to reverse his decision, to leave power or to eliminate trade unionists.
