Haiti - Politics : Better tomorrows for our daughters «beyond beautiful speeches»

Wednesday, as part of the launching of activities marking the celebration of the International Day of the Girl, Régine Lamur the Minister of Youth in her speech advocated for better living conditions for our young girls and appealed to all actors from all sectors working on the supervision and promotion of the rights of the girl.

"Beyond the fine speeches that will last only the space of their reading, I appeal to concrete actions on all sides: private sector, public sector, civil society even only for the elaboration of a specification, the essential aim of which will be to trace clearly the challenges of the Haitian girl, as well as strategies to overcome them and hence lead to better tomorrows for this class at the center of the debate today."

This day celebrated in Haiti around the theme "Tifi gen pouvwa" was aimed at putting the needs of girls in the spotlight and responding to the challenges they face. Minister Lamur invited the young girls to take the opportunity of this international day to take charge of their destiny through arguments "Young girls of Haiti, you have rights, duties and responsibilities, stand up, claim them because no one will be better able to do it for you."

In addition, the Minister recalled that her Ministry was sparing no effort to achieve the full integration of girls in all areas.

First Lady Martine Moïse spoke to the opening of the workshop on social dynamics impacting girls in the presence of Minister Lamur, Eunide Innocent, Minister for Women's Affairs, Arielle Jeanty Villedrouin, Director General of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBESR), Olivier Pierre Sterne, Youth and Insertion Director of MJSAC, Representative of "Kay Fanm" Danielle Magloire, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Marielle Sander, and representatives of the Youth Government of Haiti (GJH).
