Paramilitary Training for BSAP Agents The National Protected Areas Agents (ANAP) of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP) will continue to receive paramilitary training under the direct authority of Pierre André Gédéon, Director General of ANAP. This training, already underway in the western part of the country, will enable BSAP agents to be more effective in the field and to contribute, when necessary, to national security, in accordance with the agreement of April 3rd, 2025, which formalizes the mobilization and integration of BSAP agents alongside law enforcement to participate in the fight against armed gangs. The National Protected Areas Agents will never forget their mission: to monitor and defend all protected areas. Haitian National Police (PNH) : Hostage Freed in Soisson On Monday, August 17, 2026, the Haitian National Police (PNH) freed a hostage in Soisson, a town in the Montagne Noire region. The victim, who had already spent six days in the hands of his kidnappers, was freed following a forceful operation by law enforcement. Bangladesh to Participate in the GSF Several countries have announced donations of equipment or resources as part of the deployment of the Gang Repression Force (FRG) in Haiti. Bangladesh plans to deploy three specialized police units this October to strengthen the fight against armed gangs in Haiti. Closing of the OAS Mission to Haiti On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the El Rancho Hotel, Prime Minister Fils-Aimé attended the closing reception for the mission to Haiti of the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin. The Prime Minister thanked Ramdin for his mission and acknowledged the support of the regional community for Haiti. "Haiti is not alone, and its recovery remains a cause championed by the entire region," he stated. He reiterated his government’s four priorities : restoring security, restoring constitutional order, reviving the economy, and strengthening social cohesion. The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring state authority and creating the necessary conditions for holding elections, while commending the efforts of the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), and the Gang Supression Force (GSF).
