Haiti - Politics : Jovenel Moïse distributes 48 tractors to 12 cooperatives

Tuesday, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, proceeded to the delivery of tractors to 12 Presidents of agricultural cooperatives in the Artibonite Valley.

In the presence of Carmel André Belliard Minister of Agriculture, Serge Chéry, Director General of the National Council of Cooperatives (CNC), 12 Presidents of cooperatives registered with the CNC, received their certificates before entering in possession of the keys of tractors as well as of agricultural equipment.

The Head of State handed over the keys of about 48 tractors (4 tractors per cooperative) and promised 6 more in the coming months to the Presidents of agricultural cooperatives in the Artibonite Valley (about 18,000 planters).

On behalf of the beneficiaries, one of the Co-operative Presidents welcomed this initiative and asked the Head of State not to abandon his fight for agriculture, notably through the Caravan of Change and recommended to the other Presidents of Cooperatives to collaborate without measure and without delay in the efforts of President Jovenel Moïse.

At the end of the ceremony, Jacques Thomas conducted a visit of the agricultural facilities, during which the Head of State took the opportunity to discuss with the beneficiaries various projects for their development in the Valley.
