Haiti - Politic : Fight against exotic hairstyles and neglected clothes in the PNH

After finding that some uniformed police officers wore hairstyles in fashion (punk, mohok, or colored among others), Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) decided to put an end to these fantasies carried in defiance of the police institution.

Thus in a circular of January 9, the Director Gédéon firmly asks the police officers to comply with the rules, for men to have a haircut, beard and mustache simple and regular and women police officers to have a regular cut without coloring when they wear uniform.

He states in this circular that it is the responsibility of the Inspectorate General, the unit commanders and the entire chain of command of the units and police stations to ensure the strict application of these provisions.

This week in a new note, Gédéon intervenes on the neglected or non-regulatory outfits of the police and advises the agents of the strict application of several new measures:

- From now on, the police assigned to the Directorate of Prison Administration (DAP) will use the PNH's regulatory uniform (cream shirt, navy trousers with yellow piping). The coat of arms of the DAP and other regulatory accessories must be worn on all uniforms of police personnel of the prison administration.

- The police assigned to the Intervention and Escort team will use the special black uniform.

Reminding the Director of Administration and General Services as well as the DAP to take all necessary measures for the immediate application of these measures.
