Floods at Baradères

The Directorate of Civil Protection informs us that the heavy rains that fell in the night from Thursday to Friday flooded the city center of Baradères (Dept. Nippes). The height of the water reaches 50 cm in places.

Recipients of the Francophone Song Contest in Haiti

Thursday at the French Institute of Haiti (IFH) during the Grand Final of the 3rd Edition of the Francophone Song Contest in Haiti, the jury revealed the names of the Laureates:

- Loutchina Decius 16 years old (Port-au-Prince) received the Best Performer Award;

- Ulysse Nickenzy (Cap-Haïtien) the Best Composer Award,

- Samuel Joseph Amisial (Gonaives) Special mention of the jury for its superb performance.

Reconstruction of the Catholic Church of Petit-Goâve

This week after a meeting concerning the reconstruction of the Catholic Church of Petit-Goâve, which was attended by several personalities of the city including Me Genel Pierre, Police Commissioner Zamor Jhon Joseph, Mathieu Guyto, Father Boniface Sénat, Marie Marthe Osselin, Olibrun Cangé it was decided: 1) The preparation of the tender document. 2) The launch of the tender / end of the process: August 2018. 3) Probable start of work: November 2018 (if all goes well). Rara, safety recommendations

In the run-up to the rara season, Léon Ronsard Saint Cyr, Secretary of State for Public Security, urges those concerned to be vigilant, asking them to use fluorescent vests, flashlights or any other means that may help to see them from a distance in the dark. He calls on drivers and motorists to be cautious and to limit their speed considerably in festive areas, especially on national roads.
