Haiti - Diplomacy : A delegation of Haitian parliamentarians in Quebec

As part of the parliamentary diplomacy, a delegation of Haitian parliamentarians is expected Monday in Canada, to participate in the province of Quebec at the first session of the Standing Committee on Interparliamentary Haiti-Quebec, which is held in Parliament in Quebec, the 23 to April 27, 2018.

This delegation, chaired by the Deputy Gary Bodeau, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, is composed of Deputies Caleb J. Desrameaux, Vice-President of the Sessions in the Chamber, of the Deputy Myriam Amilcar, Vice-President for Administrative Affairs, Senator Pierre François Sildor, Vice-President of the Senate Office, Senator Pierre Paul Patrice Dumont, President of the Senate Committee Youth Sport and Civic Action and Deputies Marie Gladys Saint-Jean Lundy and Francisque Delacruz.

Recall that the Haiti-Quebec Interparliamentary Standing Committee aims to consolidate the already long-standing relations between Haiti and Quebec. For the Deputy Bodeau "The fact for Parliaments to build relations between them, in the framework of parliamentary diplomacy, to deal with matters within their purview, is a sign of rapprochement of peoples. "

This first session will be an opportunity for the Haitian delegation to discuss with their Quebec colleagues of the political and parliamentary news in their respective State, as well as various topics including the management of hydroelectric production and supply and the implementation of cooperation actions between the two Parliaments.
