During an organized retreat on October 11 and 12, 2018, at the Royal Decameron Hotel on the Côte des Arcadins, the technical and departmental directors, coordinators and inspectors general as well as senior executives of the Ministry of National Education make a last point on the Education and Training Ten Year Plan (PDEF) 2018-2028, which should guide the actions of the Ministry for the next 10 years.

It is essentially for the members of the PDEF Technical Development Committee to present the final version of the Plan, following a series of national consultations around the first Plan document and to collect the latest feedback and comments before submitting the document to the Minister Cadet.

Bayard Lapommeray, Director of the Study and Programming Unit (UEP) and the Senior Consultant, former Minister Georges Gaston Mérisier recalled the great moments and difficulties encountered in the preparation of the document and welcomed the successful completion of a long process that will allow the country to finally have a document of orientations in education for the next 10 years.

The Director of the UEP drew attention to the next steps, including the implementation of the document to prevent failures as in the past and achieve the expected objectives.

Ambassador Paul Gomis, Director of the Unesco Office in Port-au-Prince, who participated in all stages of the Plan's development, congratulated the Ministry for the work accomplished. He took the opportunity to reiterate UNESCO's support for the approach and for the next planned actions

In his speech, Miloody Vincent the Director of Communication on behalf of the Minister Cadet thanked all the actors who contributed to the development of this document, in particular the team of the Technical Committee for drawing up the Plan and the staff of the UEP. Highlighting the words of the Minister, he mentioned that the stakes are high with regard to the finalization and implementation of the PDEF and invited all stakeholders to make their full contribution to the success of this last stage of consultation in order to finalize, once and for all, the development of the document and make it available to the public.
