Haiti - FLASH : Jovenel Moïse appoints a new Prime Minister

A few minutes ago the President of the Republic Jovenel Moïse announced that he had chosen as new Prime Minister, Jouthe Joseph already Minister of the Environment and also Minister a.i. of the Economy and Finance, he replaces Jean Michel Lapin.

"Following consultations I had with different sectors of the country, I chose Citizen Jouthe Joseph as new Prime Minister.

The latter is called to form, as soon as possible, a Government of openness and consensus, capable of responding to the emergencies of the day," said the President, adding "I want to thank the former Prime Minister, Jean Michel Lapin and his government, for the services rendered to the Nation. I especially want to congratulate Mr Lapin for his commitment, his loyalty, his patriotism and his spirit of sacrifice after a year spent at the Prime Minister's office."

"Our congratulations to our Minister of the Environment Mr Joseph who has just been appointed Prime Minister by the President of the Republic Jovenel Moïse. Congratulations and success," said the Minister of the Environment.
