Haiti - Economy : Martelly invites the private sector to better support the efforts of the State

Earlier this week, the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, participated at the Karibe Convention Center, to the preparatory meeting of the General Economic Forum of the Haitian private sector to be held in October.

The Head of State has expressed at various businessmen and representatives of the ten Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Haiti present, its firm commitment to continue to facilitate the public-private dialogue in order to achieve to a more effective partnership and more fruitful for the benefit of the Haitian people.

The President of the Republic, which attracted the attention of the businessmen on the impoverishment of the Haitian middle class, recognizes that the private sector is an important partner to the public power. He invites the sector to better support the efforts of the State to get the country out of this economic slump (marasme économique).

Moreover, the Head of State has called for a good coherence between the actors in the public and the private sector. He invites them to see him as a reliable partner.

The President believes that we must modernize the country, mainly through the decentralization. He encourages in this regard, investments at the national level.
