PNH : Haitian Murderer Arrested in the Dominican Republic

Following information received by the Haitian National Police (PNH) concerning a Haitian man wanted for his alleged involvement in a murder in Haiti, members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) arrested the wanted Haitian national. The arrest took place at the El Puente checkpoint in Montecristi Province, while the individual was traveling by bus toward Santiago de los Caballeros. The detainee was then taken into custody and transferred to the headquarters of the 10th Military Zone for the purpose of bringing him before the appropriate authorities for legal proceedings.

Bahamas : Haitian Embassy Visits Inmates

As part of its commitment to protecting and supporting Haitian citizens, the Haitian Embassy in the Bahamas visited several Haitian nationals incarcerated at Majesty Prison and distributed over 180 hygiene kits.

Judicial Holidays

The Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) reminds everyone that, in accordance with the provisions of Article 75 of the decree of August 22, 1995, concerning judicial organization, Friday, July 31, 2026, marked the closing of judicial proceedings for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, without prejudice to the provisions of Article 64 of the same decree. Consequently, the Council strongly urges all judges of the judicial system to clear their cases under deliberation before their holiday break.

Digital Transformation of the Education System

As part of its program to digitally transform the education system, and to strengthen the staff responsible for supporting the digital transition, the Ministry of National Education is launching a national recruitment drive for 330 professionals (300 tutors and 30 trainers).

Jacmel : Eviction Operation

Following several notices and notifications asking citizens to remove their businesses from the sidewalks, Marceau Joseph, the Mayor of Jacmel, accompanied by officers of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and other representatives of the mayor's office, went into the streets to announce to the population that the municipal administration was beginning the implementation of the announced eviction measures. The mayor's office calls on all citizens and business owners to cooperate in order to avoid any incidents during the operation.
