Haiti - Reconstruction : A water filtration plant offered by the Puerto Ricans

A Puerto Rican delegation has inaugurated yesterday a water filtration unit for the residents of Croix des Bouquets and adjacent communities. The water filtration plant, of a capacity of 6.000 gallons/day was built at a cost of $45 000 by the Pentecostal Social Services Agency (ASSPEN) has indicated William Adorno, spokesman for the agency.

Marcos Rivera, Director of ASSPEN at the international level, said that his organization would pay the salaries of employees of the plant for two years.

Samuel Gonzalez the Director of Centraide United Way, clarified that later, wages, improvements and maintenance of the filtration plant, shall be borne by the income from the sale of water.

The delegation remained less than 24 hours in Haiti, the inauguration "express" lasted only 20 minutes and the planned visit to the clinic Jose Vargas Vidot was canceled due to delay problem on the agenda...
