The President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the Prime Minister-designate, Dr. Garry Conille met Monday, the number 2 of the UN Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (Minustah), Nigel Fisher, to discuss the withdrawal from Haiti of the Mission. On the sidelines of the meeting, the Head of State declared :

...we work for the economic development so that there is the peace, and today we met with the number 2 of the Minustah [...] as the population knows, as the Minustah knows, as the candidate Michel Martelly said it during his electoral campaign, it is important that we start working on a withdrawal, on the departure of the Minustah [...]

...We can not do it anyhow, that's why there are meetings that are made, this departure is possible, from the moment we have our own force, which is able to play the role that the Minustah is playing today [...]

...the Minustah is there for a peacekeeping mission, Peace for whom ? For the nation, so we can move forward in the economic development that we need, we need order in the country. We work to advance to the withdrawal, already by 2012, the number of the Minustah will be lowered to the level they were before the earthquake. Meanwhile, we wait at the level of the Presidency, that he new Prime Minister-designate, Mr Garry Conille is ratified, to put the government in place, start working on our defense force and after that, to work jointly with the Minustah on the withdrawal, while our force will take its place [...] here are the discussions that we made ​​[...]
