Haiti - CARICOM: Antony Blinken and Ariel Henry will discuss in Trinidad and Tobago, about intervention in Haiti

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean on Wednesday, June 5, where he will meet with Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry on his call for foreign intervention in Haiti, which is going through a serious multifaceted political, humanitarian and security crisis said Friday, June 30 a State Department official.

Blinken will "urge" Henry to work to "broaden the political consensus" and "find a political solution to put Haiti back on the democratic path," said Barbara Feinstein, Chief of the State Department for the Caribbean region.

Let's recall that since October 9, 2022 Ariel Henry has requested that an international force intervene in Haiti against armed gangs that impose violence, to restore security https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-37866-icihaiti-request-for-armed-intervention-letter-from-prime-minister-to-the-un-secretary-general.html but no country has yet declared itself ready to take command of this intervention force.

Catherine Russell, the Head of Unicef, said this week that "the situation in Haiti has never been worse..."
