Haiti - Insecurity : PM with helmet and bulletproof vest went to BRH

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Prime Minister Garry Conille visited the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) to inquire about the functioning of the Institution and to discuss with members of the BRH Board on rhe security strategies to be put in place to allow bank employees to continue serving the population.

"I am very grateful to you and to all the Bank staff for their courage and determination to work, despite the seriousness of the situation, to continue serving the population and help the Institution remain functional,” said the Prime Minister, during a meeting with the BRH Board.

"I came to give you my full support. I thank you very much for the sacrifices you are making to continue working, despite the crisis situation. I promise you that the Government is making every effort to support you and restore security in the Metropolitan Region of Port-au-Prince and throughout the country to facilitate your travel in complete peace of mind," reassured the Head of Government.

Ronald Gabriel, Governor of the Central Bank, renewed the dynamism and availability of the Bank’s staff. "Your presence at the Bank’s Office, Mr. Prime Minister, is a strong signal for us within the Board and for all the staff [...]" concluded the Governor of the Central Bank.
