Haiti - Grand South : Investment of more than 350 million Gourdes

The Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities (MICT), with the support of the Central Government through the Local Government Management and Development Fund (FGDCT), is preparing to invest more than 300 million gourdes in infrastructure and projects in Nippes, the South, the Southeast, and the Vallée des Palmes.

A protocol to this effect was signed at the campus of the Public University of the South in Les Cayes (UPSAC) by Pierre Canisius Guignard, Director General of the MICT, and seven municipalities in the Greater South, in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé.

Announced on May 7 in Les Cayes, on the sidelines of the Mayors' Conference on Investment and Security, this initiative by the Central Government aims to create jobs, bring stability, and stimulate economic activity across municipalities in the four departments of the Greater South.

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé also announced an additional 50 million gourdes for the construction of the "Maison des Collectivités" (Community House) in the city of Les Cayes, intended to serve the entire Southern Peninsula.
