Haiti - Football : Resignation letter from national team coach Sébastien Migné

"It is with great emotion, but also immense pride, that I announce today the end of my mission as head coach of the Haitian national team. https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-47992-football-contract-terminated-by-mutual-agreement-with-national-coach-sebastien-migne.html

Since 2024, I have had the honor and privilege of leading this team, sharing its daily life, its efforts, and its ambitions. Together, we have experienced an exceptional journey, culminating in the historic qualification for the World Cup... an achievement that will forever be etched in the history of Haitian football, and of which I am infinitely proud to have been a part.

What makes this feat even greater is the context in which it was accomplished. Indeed, we played all of our matches away from home, far from our country and our fans. Despite this immense challenge, this team, through its strength of character and selflessness, has put Haiti back on the international football map. This is no small feat. It's a victory that transcends the pitch, restoring to an entire nation a pride and visibility it has long deserved.

First and foremost, I want to thank the players for their total commitment, their talent, and their hearts dedicated to the jersey. Every training session, every match, every victory embodied the will of an entire people. You have proudly represented Haiti with courage and determination, and you deserve the full recognition of your country.

A huge thank you also to the entire technical and medical staff for their professionalism, their behind-the-scenes work, and their unwavering dedication every single day. None of this would have been possible without your involvement and expertise.

I also thank the leaders of the Haitian Football Federation for the trust they placed in me to carry out this mission.

Finally, a special thought for the Haitian fans, both in Haiti and in the diaspora, whose passion and energy have been an inexhaustible source of motivation.

The time has come for me to turn this page, but I do so with a sense of duty fulfilled and immense gratitude for what we have built together. I wish the team, the staff, and all of Haitian football the greatest success in the future and the challenges that await you.

Thank you for everything."

Breaking News : On Wednesday, July 15, the Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT) officially appointed Sébastien Migné (54 years old) as the head coach of the Gabonese national football team, "The Panthers". The official signing with FEGAFOOT took place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, barely 24 hours after his departure from the Haitian national team, which he led at the 2026 World Cup, and after receiving his release letter from the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), allowing the Gabonese federation to finalize the last details of his appointment. Sébastien Migné replaces Thierry Mouyouma, who was dismissed more than six months ago. Following their elimination in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) in Morocco, the Gabonese government suspended the national team until further notice and dissolved the coaching staff.

It is worth noting that Migné has extensive experience in African football, with several notable stints in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Togo, Cameroon, and Equatorial Guinea.
