Presentation of the development plan for Cap-Haitien International Airport 04/08/2026 09:24:21
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, as part of the modernization of the country's strategic infrastructure and to strengthen national connectivity, the National Airport Authority (AAN), in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, presented a development plan for Cap-Haïtien International Airport. Developed by its Planning and Engineering Department, this plan includes four projects designed to progressively modernize the airport's facilities. This initiative is part of the ongoing transformation of the Haitian airport sector, with the aim of improving passenger capacity, meeting the growing needs of travelers, and fostering economic development in the North. The presentation of this plan reflects the Government's commitment to continuing its structural investments aimed at providing the country with modern, resilient infrastructure that meets international standards. The development plan includes 4 projects : New Departure Hall : A new departure hall dedicated to domestic flights will be built, thus eliminating the dual use of the arrivals hall for boarding domestic passengers. Expansion of the International Departure Hall : To accommodate the increasing number of international passengers, the international departure hall will be expanded by adding a floor. Rehabilitation of the Road Section Connecting the Main and Secondary Tarmacs : The rehabilitation of this road section will facilitate travel between the different areas of the airport and improve the efficiency of airport operations. Aircraft Parking Area : The aircraft parking area will be expanded to accommodate more aircraft during peak hours, reduce the risk of congestion, and improve the flow and safety of ground operations.
