Haiti - Economy : Installation of the new Board of the BRH

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé presided this week over the installation ceremony of the new Board of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH), appointed by decree issued by the Council of Ministers on August 11, 2026.

The ceremony, held at the Antonio André Convention and Documentation Center in downtown Port-au-Prince, brought together members of the government, the new BRH officials, bank executives, as well as representatives from the financial sector, the private sector, and technical and financial partners.

Composition of the new Acting Board :

Ronald Gabriel, Governor;

Guerly Leriche, Deputy Governor;

Florient Jean Mari, Director General;

Michèle Delerme and Edwige Jean, Members.

In his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his government's commitment to gradually restoring the security conditions necessary for the resumption of economic activity, particularly in downtown Port-au-Prince.

Commending the outgoing members' work, the Prime Minister highlighted the progress made by the BRH over the past three years in conducting monetary policy.

He called on the new Board to focus its efforts on four major priorities: reducing inflation to a single-digit level; consolidating financial and macroeconomic stability; modernizing and strengthening the national payment system; advancing the financial market project; and supporting economic growth.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his government's determination to work towards restoring social peace, reviving the economy, and creating the conditions necessary for a return to democratic and constitutional order.
