Haiti - Social : Crash on I-95

Sunday morning around 7:40 a.m. a van carrying a dozen Haitian farm workers, flipped over on the highway I-95 near the Volusia-Flagler county.

Sergeant Kim Montes, of the "Florida Highway Patrol" (FHP) reported that the workers were traveling to New Jersey for work in a 15-passenger van. The loss of a tire, would be the cause of the loss of control of the vehicle, which flipped over multiple times, ejecting some of the passengers.

Sergeant Montes stated that two men and one woman died at the scene. Two passengers were hospitalized and are in critical condition and the other passengers were taken to hospital for treatment for various injuries. The driver, age 57 was only slightly injured.

Sergeant Montes noted that the language barrier complicated the investigation.
