Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, Thursday joined the Haitian Mission on official visits to Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, the Minister met in the afternoon, Jose Carlos Sa of Riotur (state agency that plans and promotes tourism in Rio) and Laudemar Aguliar, External Relations Coordinator, in the presence of Aurélie Gilles of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) and Henry Siclait, of the Embassy of Haiti in Brazil.

These exchanges aimed to establish a technical cooperation between the two countries to strengthen their departments of promotion and improve the product quality and tourist services. This meeting was an opportunity for Mr. Jose Carlos Sa of Riotur, to share the involvement strategies of poor areas around Rio in the development project of Rio as a tourist destination. The discussions also addressed the development of new tourist port which is the largest public-private partnership of Brazilian tourism sector.

For her part, the Minister Villedrouin, presented the Strategic Program of Integrated Regions of Tourist Development (South), by emphasizing on the regions of Cotes-de-Fer and Ile-à-vache.

The Tourism Minister also met with the Director of Professional Training SENAC (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial) and the Secretary of Tourism of Rio de Janeiro, before closing the day with a dinner with the airline GOL.

On Friday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin will hold a meeting with the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises in Belo Horizonte, then of meetings with the President of the Institute Estrada Real.
