The National Social Assistance Programme "Ede Pèp" set up by the administration Martelly-Lamothe and executed by the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), recently intervened among the most vulnerable populations in the departments of : Artibonite, Centre, West, South and Southeast. In order to provide emergency assistance to households facing food insecurity, during 4 days, the projects "Panye Solidarite", "Kantin Mobil", were implemented in the municipalities of Desdunes in Artibonite, Thomassique in the center, to the Île à Vache in the South, Jacmel and Bainet in the southeast.

Before these interventions, responsible for "Panye Solidarite" and "Kantin Mobil" held a coordination meeting with local authorities to: define the target, producing lists of beneficiaries by town, plan the distribution of coupons "Panye Solidarite" to beneficiaries, identifying distribution sites and contact persons on the ground.

Under the direction of Government, the FAES and those responsible for "Panye Solidarite" distributed: 1,000 "Panye Solidarite" in the Mountain in the commune of Jacmel, 1,000 to Morne à Brûler (Jacmel) ; 3,000 in Bainet ; 1,500 in Desdunes, 500 in Île à Vache. The "Kantin Mobile" Program served 8,000 hot meals in Thomassique, 8,000 to Desdunes, 4.000 in Jacmel and 2,000 in Bainet.

Moreover, the past weekend on the occasion of the "Feast of the tree" of the municipality of Kenscoff 1.500 "Panye Solidarite" were distributed with the support of the municipal authorities of the town.

To contribute to the forest cover of this town, a lot of seedlings have also been planted as part of this Feast.
