Haiti - Economy : Trade Mission from Providenciales

The Providenciales Chamber of Commerce (island in the Turks and Caicos) will organize a trade mission to Haiti from August 7 to 11, 2013 and would like to encourage all businesses in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) wants to encourage all businesses within the Turks and Caicos Islands to take full advantage of this trade mission to explore up closely and to seize any business opportunities that may present themselves.

Supported by the Investment and Trade Unit of the Turks and Caicos Islands Government, the main objectives of this mission are the following :

  • Highlight Haiti’s assets as an international trade hub ;

  • Identify commercial and business opportunities ideally suited for the TCI private sector participants ;

  • To engage in dialogue with Government officials on ways to develop and enhance trade between TCI and Haiti, and

  • To explore avenues for trade agreements and further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

During the 4 day mission, which will include stops in Cap-Haitian and Port-au-Prince, participants will meet with high-level Haitian Government officials, receive in-country briefings, network with Haitian businesses, and take part in pre-arranged business-to-business match-making meetings with local companies.
