Monday, as part of the implementation of the Technical Unit of tourism projects in the South East, the Departmental Directorate of Tourism South East, met with the consultant group IBI DAA, led by René Hubert, the Spanish Cooperation, the Technical Office the Historical Center (BTCH) of Jacmel, bearer of the rehabilitation project of the City of Jacmel, UN-Habitat and the National Office of Cadastre (ONACA).

The meeting was held at the tourist port of Jacmel and at BTCH to discuss the activities carried out by the various partners and the development of a schedule of activities in the short term, including the transformation of the Rue du Commerce in a pedestrian street.

Indeed, the cadastral survey of downtown of Jacmel, carried out by ONACA, with partial funding from the Ministry of Tourism and the Spanish Cooperation, covers 46 acres of the historic center of Jacmel. Demarcation operations were performed on 32 hectares. In addition, it is envisaged work of completely of the Google map, particularly the place names at the level of Downtown.

In addition, the Ministry of Tourism in order to promote the built heritage of Jacmel's historic center, has launched a campaign of restoration of facades. These beautification work concerns the axis rue du Commerce; rue Sainte-Anne; Corner rue Seymour Pradel and avenue de la Liberté and the seaside ; Corner rue Petite Batterie and rue du Commerce to the seaside.

A set of general requirements constituting a technical framework of reference has been developed by experts of the Spanish Cooperation. A draft of a house in the Rue du Commerce is available.
