Haiti - Tourism : Beginning of training of the 3rd promotion of PoliTour

The formation of the 3rd Promotion of the Tourist Police (PoliTour) was launched this week at the National Police School.

With the approval of the Ministry of Tourism, with the approval of the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), 41 police trainees and 13 supervisors of PoliTour were selected and will undergo training until February 10, 2018, in order to to constitute the 3rd Promotion of Politour.

As part of this training, applicants will take the following courses :

- Reception and customer service;

- Act ethically;

- English, Spanish and French Tourism;

- Cartography;

- Head of post and leadership;

- Haitian culture and inter-cultural practices;

- International humanitarian law and tourism;

- Money and Public Security;

- Label and protocol;

- Harassment in the workplace;

- History and Geography and Heritage Resources of Haiti;

- Introduction to tourism legislation;

- Operating mode of PoliTour;

- Swimming and first aid;

- Relationship between Police and Media;

- Administrative writing;

- Hotel security;

- Guidance technique;

- Tourism and sustainable development

- Tourism and ICT

This comprehensive program will allow these future police officers to be able to welcome and serve national and international visitors.
