Haiti - Politic : Minister Delva denies and says he does not need a discharge

Tuesday at press conference, Joseph Guyler C. Delva the Minister of Culture and Communication, rejected the allegations suggesting that he needs a discharge because of the fact that he would have been at the head of a Commission that has received a subsidy from the Haitian State.

He strongly denied allegations that he was accountant of public money before his appointment in the Government and contradicts the assertions of the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24812-haiti-flash-4-illegal-ministers-in-the-lafontant-government.html

Minister Delva also denied having presided over any Presidential Commission under René Préval, but he confirmed, however, that a Commission of "SOS Journalist" (a private association of journalists) that he headed prior to his appointment as head of the Ministry, had received a simple grant to facilitate some of the tasks, just as other grassroots associations usually receive from the state.

While arguing in favor of the independence of the three powers, Minister Delva specified that the verification of the eligibility of ministers, is the responsibility of the Executive [?] and affirmed that the appointments within the Government had been made strictly respect for the constitutional requirements.
